UC3 · Monitoring the shift
Persona · Jaspreet Singh — Production Supervisor · Dept 3630
Goal · Know where the shift stands without interrupting the people doing the work
Time today · about 90 seconds, glanced at every 15–20 minutes through the shift
Meet Jaspreet
Jaspreet supervises Dept 3630 across all five lines. He's not in the business of keying staffing or fixing punches — he needs to know, at a glance, whether the shift is on track and where to walk if it isn't.
In the current process, "knowing where we stand" means a combination of walking the floor, asking Maria how Line 5 is doing, pulling a report from the report server, and mentally combining what he hears with what he reads.
In the new app, Jaspreet has a read-only visibility dashboard that shows the same numbers everyone else is acting on, refreshed every 60 seconds. He doesn't approve anything in phase one — that stays with timekeeping. He sees the same picture as Maria and Kavi, without becoming a bottleneck.
What we'll walk through
- Open the dashboard
- Read the KPI tiles
- Spot a problem line
- See who's handling it
- Recap — what changed and what stayed the same
What success looks like
- Jaspreet's first 90 seconds of the shift tell him whether anything needs his attention.
- He sees the same numbers Maria and Kavi see — no version conflict.
- He doesn't have to interrupt anyone to know what's already in flight.
- When he needs forensic detail, the SSRS report path is one click away.
